
JOB TITLE: Receptionist/Center Assistant
for: TACID ( TACOMA AREA COALITION OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES)
TACID ’s mission is to promote the independence of individuals with disabilities

MAIN PURPOSE:
Assist individuals and groups who call or use the TACID Center by scheduling and tracking meetings, undertaking reception duties and assisting with information & referral, data entry and other clerical duties in TACID ’s office. Assist with tracking donors and preparing donor reports and Thank You letters and other development tasks.
TERMS/BENEFITS:
Part time, from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Salary: $9.47 per hour. Health Insurance offered after 3 months.
DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Executive Director:
Answer a multi-line telephone switch board, transfer calls to staff and take messages
Greet people who visit the TACID Center and direct them to staff, services and meeting rooms
Enter tracking information on computer database to record meetings and other outputs
Provide information and referral on general disability issues
Sort and distribute incoming mail
Prepare and display annual, monthly and daily schedules of center meetings
Keep job announcement file up to date
Provide clerical support in the form of word processing including mail-merge and enter information into a database, photo copying, collating newsletters and other publications and putting together mailings
Provide orientation and training to volunteers and interns assisting with reception and related duties
Record and track donations and donors in database and prepare donor reports.
Assist with TACID’s annual Visibility Breakfast and Raffle.
Prepare Thank You letters.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Previous reception and clerical experience
Good oral and written communication skills
Computer skills including word processing, data base and spread sheets in Excel
Good attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and other tasks
Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
Desire to assist people with disabilities and commitment to combat discrimination
Have a friendly, out-going personality to greet the public and make them feel welcome
Be reliable and punctual
Ability to organize information and work to tight timelines
Ability to keep confidential information secure
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of American Sign Language and ability to communicate with deaf and hard of hearing people.
Knowledge of Spanish, Korean or other second language prevalent in Pierce County
Previous experience of Microsoft Outlook
Previous experience of paid or voluntary work with people with disabilities
Previous experience with e-Tapestry or other development database

Be available to start work within two weeks of job offer
