Video Phone Grand Opening!!!!

TACID launched its new VP (Video Phone) on September 27. This service is now available to the Deaf Community to use 9 AM to 5 PM , Monday through Friday at the TACID Center . Please check in at the Front Desk and sign up for the remote control. The VP is located in Room # 19.

VP enables two deaf or hard of hearing people in different locations to communicate directly using sign language: they see each other on a TV screen. Deaf and hearing people can communicate together through the Video Relay. This innovative service allows quicker and more natural conversations than was possible using a TTY (telephone typewriter).

TACID Board Member Cathy Kastner opens TACID’s new VP along with Mike Bradley from Sorenson.

Many thanks to them. The launch was attended by members of the TACID Deaf Seniors Group and others interested in finding out more about this new technology.
