Volunteer opportunities are available at the TACID Center and within Tacoma, Lakewood and throughout Pierce County.
We are always seeking volunteers for all areas of our work, and encourage youth, as well as adults, individuals, disabled adults and groups to contact us.
- Blind Independent Program - Seeking volunteers to work with TACID blind clients to help them toward their independence. This program offers volunteers mileage reimbursement and gift certificates to take their client out to lunch once a month. We are right now in desperate need of volunteers who are willing to work with our blind clients. If you are interested please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Yard Work - The Volunteer Department is always looking for groups to help with the outside yard maintenance of the TACID Center.
- ACHIVAS - Volunteer to work with our mixed disability group with Arts & Crafts, Field Trips, Bingo, Cooking, Ceramics and many other classes.
- Computer Resource Center - Seeking Volunteers to work with disabled clients on computer applications and also looking for volunteers to help rebuild computers for disabled clients use in their homes.
- Reading to the Blind - Help Blind clients by putting books, newsletters and pamphlets on tape for them.
- TACID Board Member - Become a TACID Board Member
- On Call Volunteers - TACID is always looking for volunteers willing to help in numerous ways on an "on call" basis.
- Internship - If you are in need of an TACID might be able to help. We have internship positions available. Call for details.
